D180 doesn't Recognize Aera 650

Connected Aera output to pin 19, set Aera and Dynon interfaces to the wiki settings. The Dynon 180 says "0" GPS available; the HSI doesn't show any connection either.

The Aera does send voltage to the pin 19 female side.

Any simple solutions out there?

Not sure what you mean when you say "0" GPS available.

But to start, first, make sure you're connecting to pin 19 on the 37 pin EMS connector, not the 25 pin EFIS connector. On the EFIS/primary 25 pin connector, pin 22 is the usable serial port. Either of these is acceptable.

Next, make sure that the Aera is grounded to a common ground with the D180.

Next, make sure the Aera is set to output NMEA data.

Finally, make sure that you've gone to the HSI menu and have toggled the NAVSRC button to bring up the HSI information from the GPS.

Thanks.

By "0" GPS available I mean From EFIS-Setup-HSI-Select- scroll down to GPS input, The Dynon reads GPS 0

Pin positions checked
Ground checked
MNEA checked
I don't follow you on the NAVSRC button. Please amplify.

Sounds like you're playing with the GPS order menu. That's not used unless you have multiple GPS/NAV inputs. Anyway, do you have an HS34? But more generally, I think we'll be able to help you a bit better if you can give our tech support a call at 425-403-0553 while you're in front of the airplane and D180.
