D180 to SkyView Upgrade?

I'd like to take advantage of Dynon's upgrade offer by upgrading my RV-12's D180 to the 7" SkyView system. I understand the SkyView is a little larger and I don't have the auto pilot so that will not be an issue.

1. Does Dynon provide/have a migration document listing the differences between the two systems, what additional items will be needed or maybe removed?
2. Are the pin outs 100% compatible? Or will I have to swap a few.
3. Can I use the same engine monitors for the Rotax?

Thanks,
-Ron

Hi Ron,

1. No such migration document exists yet, though it's on our list of things to produce.
2. The EMS module pinouts are the same as the D180's two EMS connectors (the horizontal D37 and D25 connectors), but the overall modularity of the SkyView display/ADAHRS/EMS modules means that they go together a bit differently. The main harness on a SkyView display is a D37 connector, which is very different in pin-out from the D180's D25 main connector.
3. Yes, you can take the two EMS connectors off the D180 and put them on the EMS module. You'll need to remove some of the resistors that aren't used in SkyView, but that's about it.
