After installation my D180 is showing 29000 ft on the altimeter with the numbers going up and down without stop. I have a AP74 and a D100 which is showing correct measurements. Any ideas to solve this problem?

If things changed when you hooked up your static line, I'd first pop it off to make sure that it's not a plumbing problem. Assuming it's off by thousands of feet and not a hundred or so, we may need to take a look at that unit.
When we first installed the unit it was ok. After we tried to install version 5.3 a message "Unit internal error" showed up together with the altimeter error. After two more trials it went away, but the problem with the altimeter persisted. Then we hooked the lines but the error never went away.

The error is also troublesome. Give support a call at 425-402-0433 or at support at dynonavionics dot com when you have a sec. We'll want to look at your unit.
I'm sending my D180 for repair. I didn't even had the chance to use it. Is it possible to change it for a Skyview 7" to work with my set up (+ H74 + D100) ? Is there too much to change?

I sent my D180 for repair. The dealer sent me another unit to use while waiting for mine. Is it possible to use my unit backup to configure the borrowed one?

Only if you did a "settings" backup only and not a complete firmware backup. This requires that you have toggled on the "Enable special OEM functions" in the program options, which isn't likely. The complete firmware backup is unit-specific and can not be migrated .
