Hi,

I just purchased / installed my D60 in the past few weeks, and everything is working terrific except the speed tape coloring. I followed the instructions and set the appropriate speeds in the setup menu, but this has no effect. The speed tape is aways gray.

One note: The manual says that the speeds in the setup menu are defaulted to 0, and they must be set before the colors will show. On my D60, the speeds were NOT set to 0. This may or may not be relavent.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Sean,

When you go back to that menu, are the numbers where you set them? If so, give a call at 425-402-0433 for further help, or email support at dynonavionics dot com. If not, try setting them again, and then power down the unit by backing out of the menu and holding the left button. Then turn the unit back on and see if the numbers are set correctly (and that the color bars work).

Hi - thanks for the response.

Yes - I have checked a number of times and the numbers are exactly as I originally set them. The unit has about 6 flying hours on it, and has been power cycled numerous times. Also, I had a friend with a D180 take a look at everything appears to be set correctly to him.

I will call the number listed below next time I am at the hanger on a weekday during business hours.

Thanks again.

Hi again,

I figured this out today. First, I reset all 4 speeds to 0 manually using the up / down buttons. As soon as I did this, the speed tape turned RED. I powered down the unit, started it back up, and set the speeds to the correct numbers for the aircraft. From that point on, the speed tape has shown the correct colors.

I'm guessing this has something to do with the fact that the speed values were NOT zero when I first setup the unit. By going through the zero setup, it seems to have kicked that portion of the unit into gear.

All good. Put another hour on it today and all is well...
