Is the engine timer info able to be reset? Will I lose the info if power is removed from d180. I'm deciding if i need an actual hobbs meter installed or is it safe to count on the d180 info>

You can reset both the tach and the hobbs time on the D180. Also, these times are retained in memory even if all power is lost to the unit.

As Mel says, you can set the hobbs and tach to any number you want to at any time, including zero. We do this so customers replacing an EMS or hobbs meter can keep the old number.

The times are stored inside in non-volatile memory, which means they require no power to store this number. It will only reset when you ask it to.
