Different OAT sensors

Greetings. I am just getting ready to install my D180 and want to make sure I have the correct OAT sensor. Mine is a two-wire, black and white striped and the bag is marked EMS-D10-OAT 100433-000. I purchased the D180 last December.
My understanding is that I do not wire this sensor to the EDC-D10A remote compass, but rather to the D180 itself. Is this correct?

Just out of curiosity, why the two different OAT sensors?

Yes, that sensor gets connected to an EMS input.

There are two sensors because the EFIS one came first, but some of the hardware that the original OAT had in it is already in the EMS. So yours is less expensive by about half.
