Your docs state that the dimmer output (currently unsupported) is an open collector pwm output.

1) Is this a pnp or npn output (i.e. does it pull to +12 or ground or)?
2) Can it drive any appreciable current, or is it intended to be just a drive signal to an external device?

The only device on my panel that needs separate dimming is the master warning light from the EMS. It is active low (OC). It would quite convenient to have an active high pwm (OC) from the EFIS to allow driving an LED (about 20mA) by connecting it to these two signals.

It's an open collector to ground. It should be able to switch about 100 mA, but and it starts soft current limiting above that.
