It only took once or twice for me to figure out what was happening and how to avoid it...

After entering a flight plan, I decided to cut a leg short and go Direct To the next waypoint. Using the Direct To function worked fine, but then the whole Flight Plan that I entered was gone. I quickly figured out to use the Flight Plan Menu to select the Direct To waypoint, and that would keep the flight plan intact, but....

Perhaps, a la Garmin, it would be better to somehow tie the Direct To button/function to the extant flight plan, or at least "overlay" the Direct To action/waypoint while keeping the flight planned route in the system, to avoid having to re-enter it? That would at least allow the user to jump right back into a flight plan route without having lost all the data?

Just a thought...

Oh, and...crossfeed from the 430W to the SV would be *very* useful, as I find I'm almost never using the SV FP capabilities, but using the 430W for route planning and driving the HSI (which means a lot of the SV capability is sitting unused).

I realize that's because the 430W has more capability here (it has transitions and approaches, etc.), but the ability to crossfill would really be nice, so I can see the full route on the SV without having to duplicate it using SV's FP menus....

The next software release changes the DTO behavior to what you want, based on some previous customer feedback. Today, you can "Resume flight plan" and it will bring it back even after a DTO.

Flight plan downloading from the 430 is on the near-term feature list but no promises on timeframe there.
