discrete outputs from D10A?

hello all.  Dynon, any chance you might consider making discrete outputs available from the 10A?  NPN open collector, relay, etc...?
....programmable / addressable.... in particular, a discrete out that could be programmed to a compare statement
vis airspeed - create a retractable gear / low airspeed safety interlock.  i had anticipated doing it myself with xdcr and plc, but
would prefer keeping it all inside the 10A.

comments?

thanks.

Hi Dick,

That's a really neat idea. Right now, the EFIS-D10A doesn't have the hardware for the outputs you're describing. As I'm sure you're aware, the RS232 output stream, in ASCII hex, has all the data displayed onscreen. It might be a fun project to build some hardware and software (as you mention) that reads that stream and does conditionals based on that. Such a project would have a lot more flexibilty and could be tailored to your needs.

point well taken! as i plan to pick up a sport pack from you guys, remind me - when i order - to get the string syntax
from you. i could "steal" the comms and send it to a plc, read it there and do all sorts of fun stuff.... thanks! for the idea.

d.o.
