I have finished the wiring loom and am in the process of testing it.
My HS34 is connected to a PM501 audio box and then to the headsets. When I turn the EMS on I get the audio warnings I have set up (FUEL PRESSURE LOW and OIL PRESSURE LOW) but the words are distorted by static.

It goes FUE crackle crackle L PRESSUR crackle URE LOW and OIL crackle PRESSURE LOW.

The static is not at the same point each time but there is some static every time it says anything.

Any ideas?

This sounds to me like one of your connector pins is not seated all the way. Check your wiring harness to makes sure all of the D-SUB pins are fully seated.
