Does HDX Skyview need backup battery connected to retain fuel consumption data?

We recently disconnected the backup battery for our HDX skyview in order to mend the mountng bracket. During this time we noticed that when we entered fuel adjustments following fuel uplifts, the total remaining values were not retained between the power up and down of the HDX. Is this to be expected?

The short answer is no. I have never used the SkyView backup battery in any of my panels (the power distribution design makes them redundant). I can report that before one of the recent updates if you did a fuel stop, reset the fuel data, but then turn off the power to the SkyView after a few minutes the SkyView would forget you reset the fuel quantity. The current operation software does not have this problem.

That issue was fixed in v16.3.0:

16.3.003/02/2022
...

Fixed:Fuel computer keeps the correct values once ACCEPT is pressed.

Note that v16.5.2 was released today.
