I have the impression that my D180 attitude indicator is just a little bit tipsy: after take off and turning from crosswind to the desired heading, I sometimes have the impression that the AI is off by 3-5° for some seconds. It doesn't reel or shambles in straight and level flight, but as I don't have a second AI on board, it's just an odd feeling. Everything is fine at the ground.

Does this error description makes any sense to you? What is the failure mode of the AI in case the sensor has a problem?
I know, don't blame the instruments if your flying is wobbly, but I don't think it's me actually :)

Regards
Alexander

If IAS isn't right, that can affect airspeed. So first verify that there's nothing majorly wrong with your airspeed indication. If that looks right, then we'd likely need to take a look at your D180. There could be a sensor that is out of spec or that is failing. Give us a call at 425-402-0433 or an email at support at dynonavionics dot com.

Thanks for the reply!
Do I get something wrong? I only know IAS as indicated airspeed. "AI" is attitude indcator for me, not airspeed indicator. Indicated airspeed is rock stable at the D180 aand is exactly the same as on the mechanical airspeed indicator. TAS is reliable too. I have the impression that the attitude indicator shows a non-real bank of 3-5° after initial turns.

By IAS I did indeed mean indicated airspeed. The attitude indicator uses is as an aid to verify its mathematical solution. So if airspeed is drastically wrong, attitude can lag or have other adverse performance effects as you're seeing. Your last post confirms that your airspeed is acting fine, so, I think it's likely something we'll need to see here to repair.
