I am running the SkyView harness to the rear of my RV10 project, were it will then be split into 3 components, the two ADHRS and a future ADS-B transceiver. (the pitch servo has it's own feed). Is there any reason I need to use the splitter cables that Dynon sells, or can I just make up a cable that splices three leads into the harness, and then terminates all legs with a proper gender  DSUB? It seems like having all the DSUBs with gender changers is unnecessary, bulky and potentially problematic as opposed to just soldering the wires together to split them off.

You can certainly make your own, but do make sure you do the twisted pair thing as the manuals talk about.
