I'm investigating the posibility of introducing the Zaon xrx traffic awarness system into my aircraft which has  D100  auto pilot  and AVMAP EKPIV
Now both the ZAON XRX and EKPIV  are compatable
but the problem is how do I get all of them to function when both the DYNON D100 and ZAON XRX are fighting to share the same imput connection on the avmap
Have been told by ZAON that they cannot share the same connection
the only thing I can think of is some sort of a transfer switch
There has to be a better way :-/

There is no reason to have an output from the D100 connected to the AVMAP input because the D100 does not send any data to the AVMAP......

I am no avionics expert but doesn't the EFIS autopilot recieve information from the gps
I'm interested in knowing whether there has been yet a free flowing interaction with all these three devices and if not/so how it can be achieved.

Sure...the AP receives data from the Avmap.
The AP/EFIS does not send anything back to to Avmap.

In otherwords:

connect the D100's transmit to nothing since there is nothing to transmit
connect the D100's receive to the Avmap's transmit
connect the Zaon's transmit to the Avmap's receive

the Avmap will need to be set to transmit NMEA data and receive TIS data........ Not sure it can do that... The Garmins can.

yer I know I need to get my inputs and outputs sorted out
thanks for the info
The problem is with current setup is it possible for the AVMAP to both transmit GPS data and receive data from the Zaon XRX at the same connection point and at the same time (maybe a double adapter????)
I'm hoping it somehow can be done

I am not familiar with the AVMAP, these questions are better suited to be answered by them as the connection to the Dynon is a simple one and Dynon has no rat in the race of communication between the Zaon and the AVMAP......

I doubt you will find an off the shelf connector that will allow you to do what needs to be done to interface all three of these units since all three of them have different connection methods that do not follow RS232 standards.

It is easy to make up your own harness to make this happen.  First you need to find out from AVMAP if they will support NMEA out and ZAON (TIS) in on the same port.  If they don't, you can't make this work.  If they do, you can make your own harness to enable this setup.

If you don't think you can build it, give SteinAir a call, they will whip you up a custom harness in no time flat.
