I was flying IFR. Flew into light icing. The pitot began to ice over. As the airspeed indication began to fall, the pitch indication became erratic. Does the 10a us the airspeed and change of airspeed to judge acceleration forces? My expectation was that the airspeed would go to zero and the ADI would continue to work normally. Then I would revert to pitch and power setting flying. What is happening during the loss of airspeed???.

The EFIS does use airspeed to measure acceleration. Without an accurate airspeed the horizon can become inaccurate as you discovered.
