I am replacing a D-100 with a D-180 and noticed in the install manuals that the 180 is 8 oz's lighter than the 100. Is this true? I will weigh them both when I get a chance but am curious why this is. Cost reduction of components perhaps?

Just curious...

Not true. Somewhere along the line, we mixed up some numbers, published some wrong data, and it persisted. I just went back to our production area and weighed the D10/D100 series major components. Here are the results.

EDC-D10A: 4 oz
Battery: 7 oz
EMS-D10: 1lb 4 oz
EMS-D120: 2lb 2oz
EFIS-D10A/D6: 1lb 8oz
EFIS-D100/D60: 2lb 5oz
FlightDEK-D180: 2lb 8oz

These measurements will get rolled into docs as they get revved too.
