Hi, relatively new to Dynon Skyview - just bought a RV7 with only 1 SL30 Garmin NAV/COM radio that currently doubles as intercom too.
First order of business for me is to add 1 extra radio (Dynon's 8.33) and I want to keep the SL30. The aircraft has 2 Dynon Skyview units (10" touch and 7" non-touch). For this to work I am thinking to add the Dynon audio panel too.
I have the following question:
The audio panel has input for 2 radios (and some other inputs too), but how do you switch between listen and transmitting on the radios ? In my current RV I just installed some 1 switch to select which radio to transmit on, and then 2 switches that enables me to listen to the radios (or not listen) - or is there another smart way ? Could it be controlled from the screens ??

Hope you can help

regards
Per, Denmark
RV6A and in a few days RV7.

As I suspected, you were thinking of an intercom, not an audio panel.

Like yours, my plane has two screens and originally had just one Dynon com and a simple 4 place intercom. When I added, among other things, a second com and 2 VHF nav radios, I had to replace the intercom with a true audio panel. On the advice of the folks in the Dynon booth @ Oshkosh, I chose the PS Engineering experimental model, the PDA 360EX. It does the job nicely and is a lot less expensive than their certified models. There's enough documentation that I found making all my own cables straight forward (not simple, but if you read and work carefully it is indeed do-able). It allows audio alerts from both Skyview and my IFR GPS. It will definitely solve your 'who is transmitting and receiving?' situation without involved switch-ology, and do a lot more. Worth your while to check it out if you decide an audio panel is the way you want to go.

Hi - thanks for the input - looked for the PS Engineering PDA360EX which is out of production and not to found anywhere... Then I came across their PAR200B which is an audiopanel and external radio, incidentally the same TRIG TY-91L radio as is inside the normal Dynon 8.33 radio. I am just wondering if I would be able to remote control the radio from the EFIS, like loading frequencies etc, as this is only $500 more than what I would expect from the Dynon solution I am very tempted... I will try to go for the books to see how Skyview interacts with radios.

The EFIS will only control one radio. You can see a second radio displayed, but you can't control it or transfer frequencies.
