Dynon, a leader in avionics solutions for general aviation, today announced a significant expansion of its Approved Model List (AML) for its Dynon Certified SkyView HDX system. This expansion brings Dynon's advanced avionics capabilities to a wider range of aircraft, including most piston twin-engine models.

Expansion Highlights

  • Twin-Engine Coverage: The STC now includes 168 new twin-engine aircraft models, dramatically increasing avionics options for owners of these aircraft.
  • Broader Single-Engine Coverage: An additional 24 single-engine aircraft models have been added to the AML.
  • Total Coverage: With this expansion, Dynon's STC now covers nearly 800 aircraft models, solidifying its position as one of the most comprehensive avionics upgrade options in general aviation.
"This expansion represents a major milestone for Dynon and the general aviation community," said Michael Schofield, Director of Marketing at Dynon. "By bringing our SkyView HDX system to most piston twin-engine aircraft, we're offering owners of these planes the same advanced capabilities that tens of thousands of single-engine aircraft owners have been enjoying for over twenty years."

Approved Model List Expansion Details

The expanded approved model list covers a wide range of aircraft, including most non-pressurized piston single and twin-engine aircraft that carry up to 10 people. This includes larger piston single-engine aircraft that were outside of the scope of the original AML, such as the De Havilland Beaver. Dynon also added other aircraft, such as the Ercoupe/Aircoupe, that were requested by popular demand.

Pricing and Availability

Dynon is committed to maintaining its competitive pricing structure with this expansion. The prices for SkyView HDX systems and related products are the same as the existing affordable experimental and certified pricing. For type-certificated aircraft owners Dynon charges only a modest STC permission fee - $2678 for single engine aircraft and $5000 for twins - making the upgrade process straightforward and accessible.

"We're excited to offer our advanced avionics to a broader range of aircraft while maintaining our commitment to value," said Michael Schofield. "Twin-engine aircraft usually pay a significant premium to equip their aircraft, in part because there are two engines, but also because they are often segmented into higher cost equipment. By keeping our pricing consistent across our Dynon Certified product line, we're ensuring that more pilots can benefit from modern avionics technology."

This STC expansion further cements Dynon's commitment to providing cutting-edge avionics solutions to a broad spectrum of general aviation aircraft. Owners of newly eligible aircraft can now upgrade to Dynon's SkyView HDX system, bringing modern glass panel technology to their cockpits.
