Dynon Skyview HDX

Hi all - I have the above install in a Bristell. Does anyone know whether Dynon are creating a simulation software package to load on to the Dynon or even a standalone simulation package for all Dynon users to get better experience of all its functions whilst on the ground!? I have seen a thread on here but it was back in 2020 and wonder whether anything has been created since - google search suggests not but I live in hope!

What specifically do you want to simulate? Is there something you can’t accomplish by using ground power? I know the aircraft spruce corona location has an hdx in demo mode.

Hi Graham,

You might have already seen these developing series of videos from Dynon but they cover a lot of the functionality and are well worth watching.

The SkyView HDX Academy is series of lessons that covers many parts of the SkyView system. This course is completely free and open to everyone. It doesn't matter if you are already a Dynon user or just looking for the right system for your aircraft.

Thanks for your replies - I have seen all the videos but it would be useful to actually do it "live" without being in the air to fully focus on all its functionality - videos have certainly been helpful but there is nothing like getting actual experience through use albeit on the ground. I wonder if there is any way to drive the DEMO mode in Dynon to practice things at zero feet AGL without any risk of falling out of the sky.

We've been asking for a sim for a personal computer for years, to no avail. It is a shame, as it would be a very useful thing to have. I know Garmin had (has?) one for the 430/530 series (dunno about others) that I used decades ago when they first came out to learn the systems with my instrument instructor. Would be nice to have the same thing for SV.

I've never actually messed with DEMO mode in the actual unit.
