When the new Dynon transponder is released, will it eventually be able to interface with the D180 or will it only work with Skyview?

I assume you only mean that the D180 won't display traffic, not that the transponder won't output the normal ADS-B signal when supplied with altitude encoder information from the D-180?

Our transponder is controlled by SkyView. You use SkyView to set the code, turn it on/off, etc. Without SkyView, there is no way to even tell the transponder to be on.

So you absolutely need a SkyView in the plane to use our transponder.

Ah, missed that it had no knobbies to twiddle!

For marketing (and to keep dumb old guys like me from asking the same question again ) you might want to describe it as a "remote transponder."

In that same vein, while I know you do not have release details are you planning the VHF radios to also be remote such that all controls and frequency display will be through the Skyview?

While we do hope to do a radio at some point, it WILL require panel space. We don't think SkyView's buttons and knobs offer a sufficient user interface for something that needs to be adjusted in the way a radio does. You really want direct frequency and volume adjustments.
