My CT has been running great with V3.0 on a D120/D100. 496 works fine and all that. I have the null connector between two serial cables where I do the update. If I install V4.0, do I leave these disconnected, or connect them back up again?. I have data transfer between panels now, e.g., if I turn the D100 off the D120 says "EFIS not detected".

Thanks.

With v4.0, you no longer need the serial cables connected between your D120 and D100. Instead, you'll need to connect their DSAB A and B lines to each other.

This page has a succinct description of what you'll need to do -- in both hardware and software -- to get everything up and running on v4.0.

Also, you will probably want to download the latest install and user guides for your products:

With 3.0, the D100 talks to the D120 over serial, but the D120 talks to the D100 over DSAB.

So if you turn off the D120 and the D100 says "EMS not found" then you're already wired up. Just install 4.0 and leave the serial null disconnected.

If you aren't getting the "EMS not found" then you probably don't have he DSAB wires connected and you'll want to do that before installing 4.0.

great. I can display engine data on my D100 and HSI data on my D120, so I assume data is flowing both ways. If I get the "EMS not found" when the D120 is off, and I'm wired OK, then does it matter which gets updated first?
