Looks like I answered my own question. When I executed the "Detect Firmware Version" command, it prompted me to stop and connect the magnetometer. So, looks like I have to update the EFIS and remote magnetometer through the Support Program at the same time.
This is a unit that's not installed in an aircraft that I'm selling to someone who wants me to do the firmware update before shipping.
