If I mount the remote compass sensor on the rear deck forward of the HS it may be easier to actually mount it under the deck. If I did this I can keep the D Sub connector oriented correctly but it woud work best if the unit were inverted (tabs up). Would this allow the compass to function correctly?
Can I shorten the cable from the OAT sensor without affecting accuracy. Thanks!

The remote compass is a full 3D sensor, so it will not work upside down. It needs to be tabs down, connector forward, tilted with the EFIS.

All OAT's can be shortened. The type 2 OATs with the black band near the sensor can be lengthened as well.
