Can anyone give me any info on the wing tip installation with strobe lights.
Will there be a problem with interference. I know that I can hear the strobes in some a/c. If there is a known problem, what would be the best location? The a/c is the RV-8. I saw the bracket that is advertised for the wing tip install, but don't want to have problems. I am mounting the OAT at the mid-wing on the bottom.

I tried a wingtip install on my RV6 and found it unacceptable. The problem wasn't the strobe, it was the nav and landing lights. The EDC module does not like to be close to any wires carrying moderate or larger current loads, and I could not find a location in my wingtip that was far enough away from the wires going to the lights or from the big iron pipe in the leading edge of the aileron. I found that when I turned on either the nav lights or the landing light (my landing light is in the front of the wingtip) that I would see the heading swing about 10 degrees. When I moved it aft in the wingtip to get away from the wires, aileron movements caused it to swing. I finally mounted my EDC in my fuselage about half way back and it is perfectly stable and accurate there.
