EDC-D10A Magnetic Field Intensity

The installation manual mentions setting the magnetic intensity for the location at which the EDC-D10A remote magnetometer will be calibrated.

The NOAA website provides "Horizontal Intensity" and "Total Field" values, but not "Magnetic Intensity."

Which value should be inserted into the D10A, Horizontal Intensity or Total Field? The manual terminology is not clear.

Thanks,
Jim

It's total field you want.

When you go to our website, and support->compass inclination, there is a page that tells you how to enter it in the EFIS, and it tells you to use total field. This is also the page that links to the NOAA's site. We don't put all that in the manual since the NOAA changes their site now and then so we have the instructions on the web.

Thank you. I had only checked the manual I had downloaded.

Calibration went just fine!
