I've installed my EDC-D10A on the outboard right wing rib. The OAT probe is about 4 ft inboard of that and I'm running the two leads from the OAT outboard to the EDC-D10A. The 4 wire shielded cable from the EDC-D10A is going back through the wing to the root. I have to have some sort of connector at the root to mate to the same 4 wire shielded cable running out from my FlightDek-D180. I've got lights, a shielded strobe cable and a Nav antenna running right next to the EDC-10A cable. What's the best type of connection to use for the EDC-10A cable? AMP, spade connector, DB9 or ??? Should I try to shield that connection somehow?

My EDC-10A is one of those subject to the SB. I'd like to send it in this week for repair. What's the current turnaround time to get those back?

Doesn't matter really. Those wires carry data and power, and don't require shielding strictly speaking, even though our harnesses happen to have it. A DB9 offers good connection security with an easy enough way to pull them apart.

But, note that there should be 3 wires running from your OAT to the EDC. The only OAT that can be connected to the EDC-D10A is the one with red/yellow/blue wires. The one with a pair of black/white wires can only be connected to an EMS GP input.
