Can I mount the External EDC-D10A next (a couple of inches) to a Crossbow AHRS.... and be able to calibrate the Magnetic Field/Heading????

If so - do I need to have the AHRS on or is off OK.  The calibration procedure says nothing about the engine needing to be running or any electrical equipment on>?

Alan,
I don't think we can give you a solid answer on how far from the Crossbow AHRS you need do be. We don't know what's in that AHRS unit or what effect it may have on our magnetometer, so it would probably be a good idea to get 12+ inches away from it. That being said, there is also a very good chance that it won't interfere at all. One easy way is to take a normal compass and put it near the unit and see if it distorts the reading at all.

You should calibrate the EDC in normal flight mode, since that is where it will be operating. THis means engine on, as well as all normal equipment.
