I've sent in my D10 EFIS and EMS to update them so they are on the same page. Does this mean now my EDC10 will no longer work?

Are they coming back for software updates or hardware updates, or both. And is it an EFIS-D10 or EFIS-D10? (the EFIS-D10 was only sold for about a year starting in 2003. If you're sending it in for a software update, the answer is "it depends". The EDC-D10A also has software on it, but it wasn't updated as often.

"The notes in the RMA state that the software was updated...."
And yes, D10A.
Thanks,

Any thoughts on compatibility given my answers to your questions?  The EDC quit holding an accurate heading despite very careful installation and perfect function to start......?
See the delta in heading between the Dynon and the Garmin in the first photo versus perfect alignment in the next post:

Generally, if it works at all, the software is compatible. Do you happen to know what version you were on before you sent them in?

What is the Garmin configured to show? Track?
Also is the Garmin configured to display true bearings or magnetic bearings?

If it's for track and magnetic then of course the Dynon heading will be different from the Garmin track by the correction for the wind speed.
In the first picture you have a tailwind / from the left. It looks like quite a stiff wind at that: 40 - 55 mph? (Can't be bothered to get the whizz wheel out...)
In the second you have a tailwind from pretty well dead astern at about 30mph.

I think my figures are about right.
Having the Dynon in mph and the Garmin in knots is making my head hurt a bit!  :-?

If you have the Garmin connected to the Dynon (or Dynons if you are DSABbed up) and an OAT probe installed then you could turn on the wind indication on the Dynon.

They were two different versions that wouldn't recognize each other. No idea what the EDC is. I'll reinstall everything and see what happens.

They don't read the same taxiing on a calm day and WAY more delta than true/magnetic/track/bearing. They didn't talk so my probe wasn't working hence the need to send them in for updates.
