EFIS Audio Output

My Dynon D100 & D120 were factory installed as was the PM3000 intercom. The audio outputs from the D120 have always worked to specification however I have never heard anything from the EFIS so suspect that there is no connection to pin 18 on the EFIS D25 plug.

I have not dismantled the EFIS D25 connector however understand the green wire in the harness is connected to Pin 18.....am I right?
The white/orange wire from the 'Intercom Audio Alert' Pin 31 on the D120 D37 plug runs to the PM3000 intercom and I am wondering, can I can splice the green EFIS Pin 18 wire into the white/orange wire from the D120 which would make it a much easier fix or does the green wire need to go to a different pin on the PM3000?

Thanks

Dave

The only thing that comes from the EFIS is AoA alarms and altitude alerts. The altitude alerter is brand new in this latest software, so you probably haven't heard that yet. Do you have an AoA probe and is it set up to do an audible alert? You can go into the AoA alarm menu and hit "test" to see if you can hear it.

You can wire the D120 and D100 in parallel if needed (splicing them together).

Thanks for the quick reply!

Yes I have the Dynon AOA pitot and have tried the "test' function in the past for the AOA but nothing was heard. I will try splicing the green & white/orange wires together so that the D100 & D120 are in parallel from Pin 18 (D25) & Pin 31 (D37).

Any chance there will be a software soultion any time soon to set the audio output levels?

The trial and error method with dropping resisters is a rather crude way to set the audio levels.

Thanks,

No, our hardware has no way to change the output level, so we can't do anything in software.

We suggest a variable resistor that you can set instead of just trying resistors.

I am about to install a D-180, and we want to connect both the EFIS and EMS audio alerts to the intercom. I have already noted that the manual recommends connecting via a 10K potentiometer, and I think it would make sense to make this a trim pot, rather than adjustable from the panel. What minimum wattage does the potentiometer need to be? Would a 100mW unit be sufficient?
