EFIS D100 does not power on by ext power

Hello,
I am a low time user of the Dynon D100/D120. It used to power on immediately when external power is applied. Now the screen remains black. Is it the internal battery that needs to be charged? Does it need to be constantly on power?
Any feed back is very welcome.

Hello,
The dead emergency battery has prevented the D100/D120 to start up from main power. Removed this battery: everything OK!
I would like to express my appreciation for the excellent help of the Dynon support.
