EFIS D100 - screen flicker after engine start

I have the EFIS D100 /EMS D120 combo and since I have done the latest firmware update, I am having problems with the D100 screen flickering after the engine has been started. This is particularly noticeable if there are 'checklists' displayed as it makes them unreadable.
The problem can be easily rectified by powering down the D100 and powering up again......everything goes back to normal, however I am wondering if anyone else has had the same problem...or if Dynon are aware of it?

Thanks

Dave

Sorry for the delayed response.

I hope to have some better information for you in the next day or two - we're having our engineering staff look into it. It's not something that we're familiar with though.

What are the voltage levels displayed on the EFIS as you start your engine?

Dave,

We're going to want some more precise data from you. Give us a call at 425-402-0553 when you get a chance.

Will checkout the voltage on the D100 while starting the engine (hopefully tomorrow) and report back.

Calling on the phone will be tricky as there is a 16 hour time difference ( we are + 16 hours) between here and Washington state but will see how I go.

Initial EFIS indicated voltage is 12.2V     During start the EFIS indicated voltage drops momentarily to 10.8V.    As the 912ULS starts almost instantaneously, the period at 10.8V would only be about 1 second.

As it's almost midnight your time right now, it's not possible to call, but I will e-mail you so that you can seek further information or data if you wish.

I'm also experiencing exactly the same problem on my D-100 (mounted in a Ultra Light motorized with a Rotax 912S). Maybe it could help if I take a trace of the voltage using a digital scope during the engine startup (only doable in 1 or 2 weeks).

Regards,
Philippe.

Hi Philippe,

I have been in contact with Mike at Dynon and they are looking into it. I sent them a short video of the problem we are experiencing during engine start.

No update to report, other than we are aware of it and are looking into it.
