EFIS-D10A can't see EDC anymore

Hi,
I've had my EFIS-D10A working with the EDC just fine for a while now. Yesterday, I disconnected the EDC wiring, ("uninstalled" the EDC from the EFIS when prompted, accidentally), added in the OAT wiring, reconnected everything, and now the EFIS can't see the EDC nor the OAT.

I have repeatedly checked and continuity-tested the wiring, removed the OAT from the wiring, updated the software to 2.12 -- still can't see the EDC anymore. The installer program reports "no EDC detected" and the headset test confirms this.

Any debugging tips? Should I send in the EDC for service?

Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,

Let's have the EDC back for service as you suggest. Give us a call at 425-402-0553 and we'll set up a Return Materials Authorization for you to send that in for warranty repair.

EDC came back from RMA, no improvement. Voltmeter shows power and ground on the correct pins,
and slight voltage on the data lines. Any other debugging hints?

Will the software updater always be able to detect the EDC even if the EMS and EDC have different versions on them?

Also recently noticed that the EMS makes a brief hissing noise when first powered on, about a half second.

Hi Paul,

The EDC checked out on our end, though we reprogrammed it just to be on the safe side.

It may be the EFIS, but this isn't a failure mode that is common at all and so it is tough to be certain. We should have at least the EFIS back to troubleshoot further, and ideally if you send both the EFIS and the EDC we can test the combination from end to end here.

Yes, the EDC and EFIS should both detect, even if they have mismatched software versions.

Give me a call at 425-402-0553 and we can set up the RMA.
