What would be some symptoms seen in the cockpit that would indicate missalignment between the EDC10A remote compass and the D10A EFIS?

A shifted heading in one direction, and perhaps some odd heading dynamics, but you have to have a pretty big misalignment for it to be very noticeable.

Would "odd heading dynamics" include + and - 1 or 2 degree heading movement while standing still in the hangar? Or up to 5 degree heading over/under shoot rolling out of turns on autopilot? I'm looking for perfection here and not sure what is possible. I think I'm within a degree or so of alignment using an electronic angle measuring tool from Harbor Freight. Thanks for the your insight...Jack

Dynamic movement on the ground is more likely to be caused by some external influence than my misalignment. Either power in the aircraft, or a super-hero's high-powered secret lair underneath the hangar. By odd heading dynamics, I meant that you may see heading errors , mostly in the air, that are not 1:1 with the compass mis-alignment.

As for the AP performance, have you tried the improvements in 5.3? See the latest install manual and release notes to learn about the alternate roll mode that has helped a bunch of people so far.

Yes, 5.3 is much better. With turn rate set to zero, I get more stable turn rate than befoer at about 3 degrees per second and comfortable rollouts close to commanded heading...Jack
