EFIS in your car?

Does anyone else think it would be somewhat fun (albeit overzealous) to have an EFIS display in your car? I would love to have a 4" attitude display in my dash, and throw on a remote magnetometer and outside air temp probe... Well I think it would be awesome. Think about it, guys. For most people, the only thing cooler than driving a fast, nimble car would be flying a light, nimble plane. Who wouldn't want to have a little Top Gun-inspired gadgetry in their daily driver?

Since there is no such product that I can think of that provides this type of data to you in your cabin, can anyone advise as to the feasibility of installing an EFIS system in a standard automobile (specifically a smaller, sportier model)? Would you need to modify the current/voltage of a standard 12V car battery.

Hopefully someone out there shares this idea, at least a little bit. Any ideas?

One of our engineers here had one in his RX-7 for a few years, pitot and all ;)

It runs fine off a car 12V system. Most light homebuilts use car alternators anyway.

It's not as exciting as you'd think though- Cars don't really tilt or pitch except on entrance ramps and such, so it really doesn't do much except speed and altitude. If it ever show you upside down, you're really in trouble ;)
