My D10 has reset or rebooted in flight several times and this is occuring more and more. It now also goes into a continuous reset loop. The screen shows the Dynon logo after a few seconds the regular screen appears (greyed out with a message stating the attitude is unreliable) after a further few seconds the normal screen appears for a second and then the it repeats the cycle starting with the logo. This goes on continuously. Normal operation can be restored by hitting any button at the right time and then turning it off. Once turned on it starts up and is fine. Until the next event. This happened twice on a 40 minute flight (IMC BTW). Is it dying or is it a known problem? I have about 300 hours on the unit and this has only started in the last 10-20 hours.

Hi Pat,
From what what you've described it sounds like there is a good chance this unit may need to come back for warranty service. First, though, make sure your EFIS is running the latest software. Over time, we have found a couple of bugs in the EFIS software which can cause a unit to unexpectedly reset under certain conditions. If you haven't updated your EFIS's software since the latest update (currently June 2005), I'd reccomend that you update it and see if it helps. You can also check your current software version against the latest version by going into your EFIS's SETUP menu, and then to the VRSION item. The latest version of the EFIS software is available on our website.

If the software update does not help things give us a call at 425-402-0553 and we'll open up an RMA so that you can return the EFIS for warranty service.

The code in my D10 01.13, the latest. Instead of getting an RMA I think I would prefer to upgrade it to a D10A. How long would it take to do that?

Thx

Pat

Recent upgrades have been getting turned around in a week or less (excluding shipping).

The upgrade will still require an RMA to be set-up so we can track your incoming EFIS. Give us a call at 425-402-0553 before you send in your unit.
