As stated in the manual - you don't want temperature change over a junction that isn't itself thermocouple material. There will almost definitely be a temperature change across the firewall. So unless that cannon plug is specifically meant for the type of thermocouples that are being connected (type J thermocouples for the CHT, type K thermocouples for the EGTs), we would expect such a plug to affect the accuracy of those readings.
