Not sure if this is a feature that I have over looked but if not, perhaps we can add this to the list of customer requests.  I have a 9 cylinder EGT/CHT EMS system.  As we know, the actual temperatures of the EGT are, in general, a reference number and not an actual temperature like CHTs.  This is due to a number of reasons.  One being installation location of probes.  Question - Is there a normalization feature for the EGT, that will set all EGT bars to the same reference temperature (Length)?  Be it at max, min or average.  If once in cruise, all EGT bars were normalized (or set to the same graphical length) a change in cylinder performance would be noticed faster. Is this feature presently in the software?  If not, I believe this would be high on my list of future wishes. Attached is a graphical representative of this theory ::)
Thanks
Larry

This has been a quite subject. Am I the only one who sees that advantage in such a display? As pilot and A&P, I see the direct benefit to such an easy display option. Once you really know how to read and use EGT for preventative maintenance, slight variations can be seen easier than if the EGT bars are slightly staggered. Must be my engineer side I coming out I guess. :-?

The JPI in my Bonanza had a normalize function. Yes, it would highlight any EGT excursion once set. I would like to see this done. One of my probes reads consistantly 150* or so lower than the others. This would bring it in line! Another thread asked about a warning for oscilating EGTs that may indicate a failing exhaust valve. A normalize function would highlight such an indication.
