I may be premature in asking this because I have yet to fiinish my research.
I believe I understand that the Rotax 912 iS ECU pushes a variety of warning messages onto the CAN bus and that the Stock Flight Systems engine display unit can trap and display some of them.
If this is correct, can the Skyview EMS 221 do the same thing either now or in a future upgrade?
The Two I can think of in flight situations are a plugged air filter - the 912iS has an ambient air pressure sensor that is to be mounted just outside the filter as well as an airbox pressure sensor and the ECU apparently provides a warning message for this condition. The other is a plugged fuel filter (I think I can probably trap this by a maximumm pressure setting).
There may be others, such as partial igntion failures, plugged fuel injectors and sensor failures that one may want to know about during flight.
