EMS 37-pin connector #1 red wire question

Should the #1 pin voltmeter wire (red) on the EMS 37-pin harness be connected directly to the battery, ie, always on? Or should it connect to the main buss?

Doesn't really matter, either will work. It won't drain your battery if connected direct.
