Some engine monitoring systems utilise an engine bay module to which all the sensors are connected. There is only then a single data lead running through the firewall to the display unit.
This simplifies firewall connectors, panel wiring and engine removal.
Have Dynon considered this type of set up for their EMS?

Thanks,

Roger

Hi Roger,

We did think about this configuration but ultimately decided to build upon the EFIS-D10A's physical layout. This is something that we will continue to consider in future designs.

Thanks for the prompt reply & pleased to see you are considering an engine bay data module. I've been there before and don't want to be threading all my sensor leads through the firewall - it's a nightmare for maintenance.

Here's a proposal:

1. Dynon are already developing an "inter-display capability" which I presume is a data bus cable.

2. 7 inch display has enough area to display efis alongside ems

3. How about a displayless ems module which can live in front of the firewall & connect to the EFIS D-100 via a single cable.

That would make me a customer! - do you see any drawbacks?

(Maybe use the forum to poll & test customer opininons)

Brgds,

Roger

a seperate bay would help this guys with only little room behind the panel.
