I purchased an OAT from Spruce: a 10-01176 (two wire) for my EMS D10. It was not shipped with a 1K ohm resistor but I tried wiring per 3-3 with a 1K resistor which resulted in totally erroneous temps. The install manual does not provide guidance for two wire probes which do not require 5 vdc into a 1K ohm resistor. Is it 5VDC to one wire and the second wire to the GP input? Or what? Many thanks

Are you trying to use this on an EMS-D10 or another product?

If this is on an EMS, one wire goes to ground, the other to one of the GP inputs. Simple as that, no other connections need to be made. If you are looking at a 1K resistor, I think you are looking at the carb temp instructions which are right below the OAT instructions in the manual.

From the manual (page 3-14 of the latest EMS-D10 manual):

"Once you have physically mounted the OAT probe, route its attached cable to the EMS-D10. Connect one of the black/white wires to ground, either at a supplied connection on the 37-pin harness or at another convenient location."
