encoder not sending to transponder

My transponder (KT 76A) is not receiving the encoder altitude information. I have the EFIS-D10A and the Blind Encoder Serial to Parallel Converter installed. The transponder is working fine. Can you give me an idea where to start looking for the problem?

There's a lot of wires involved here.

The first thing I would look at is the power to the converter- make sure it has power and ground when the system is on (including the transponder).

Second thing is to make sure the EFIS is set to format 1 in the encoder output setting.

What is the transponder reporting? No altitude, or the wrong one?

EFIS is set to 1. Transponder reports 1200 ok but no altitude. I will check ground and power when I can get to the hangar again.
