Engine probes - COTS ok, specifications? or Dynon?

Must one buy all probes from Dynon for the engine monitors? I have all the probes but can't tell if it is possible to use my existing ones -- are there published technical specifications for the input expected? This is blocking my decision to go ahead and buy!

Thanks in advance!

Re: Engine probes - COTS ok, specifications? or Dy

We do a polynomial fit on each sensor that we sell in order to make sure it is as accurate as possible, and thus we don't have a "specification" for a sensor that works on a given input. We basically support the sensors that we sell as well as a certain set of sensors that Grand Rapids sells, since these are the ones we have characterized. If your engine is a Jabiru or Rotax, we support the pre-installed sensors that are on the engine from the factory.

Things like fuel level, fuel flow, RPM, voltage, EGT and CHT aren't specific to a sensor really. We support any J-type CHT and K-type EGT thermocouple, basically any resistive fuel level sender, and the rest are just pulses or built-in.

What other sensors are you trying to use and who makes them? For what engine? We may be able to tell you if they match our sensors or not.
