It would be helpful to have a little more information - like what system do you have, what were you doing just before this message popped up, software changes, etc...
If you have dual screens (you still haven't answered about what equipment you have) then when updating the software you will have to update each screen individually - they will not "share" a software update from one screen to the other. If you update only one screen, you will have all kinds of errors present until you update the other screen as well.
