I am installing a D100 & D120 in my Vans RV-6 in New Zealand.

I note that the EDC-D10 Remote Compass (and OAT sensor) have warning labels stating that they are Electrostatic Sensitive Devices.

Is it necessary to take ESD pecautions when installing these in the airframe?   If so is it applicable at all times or only when the yellow seal is broken & during plugging in of the connector?

Thank You

It's only the pins on the connector that can be damaged. The case of the unit is protected.
