I have a skyview system in my just-flown RV-7A (~2hrs on the hobbs). It was doing odd things so I called Dynon and they had me remove the screen and the adahrs and send in. Understand that I am getting fixes for free, but what can I do to speed up the RMA return? I've made 2 flights total in my new plane and I woudl sure like to fly this weekend! I have a high-limit credit card at the ready here. Please Call me.

Does Dynon understand that for Skyview (in most instalations), a RMA essentially grounds the aircraft? Maybe they need a separate RMA policy for Skyview.

Hi Ted,

We're really sorry that you're grounded. What we should've communicated - and it looks like we didn't - is that both of these problems, though they should be addressed, don't need to ground your aircraft while you're doing your fly off. The ADAHRS issue does ultimately require the unit come back here, but if you're not seeing any adverse instrument performance, that could've waited until it was convenient for you. The display issue is a bit trickier - there's a chance that that issue could've been resolved in the field via some additional back and forth troubleshooting, but, that's not a guarantee either. Regardless, the same thing applies here too... that could've waited until a convenient time. We definitely fell short of going deep and being comprehensive in our troubleshooting abilities here. Regardless, we'll work to get your units back to you as soon as we can.

Thank you for the reply, but as you know these are pretty critical to flight so a "cloned swap" program might be very useful to offer even if it might have to be extra cost. I mean if I was x/c and the unit failed I would not be in danger per say, but would have no engine info nor transponder - so immediate landing. At 10 business days to fix that could be alot of hotel, I'd spend $250 in a heartbeat if I could send you a file and you overnight me a cloned unit I could use.
