Fail to Sync when pressing the BARO knob

On a recent flight I noted that when pressing the BARO knob to get the local altimeter setting the system would flash a 'fail to sync' error message and not update the BARO setting. I could still set it manually and I noted that I was able to pull up ADSB weather from the system for a nearby station. So, wondering what this means. I couldn't find any information on this error in the pilots guide.

This occured on the 2nd flight after having my IFR cert inspection performed on the pitot static and transponder. The shop told me that the Skyview encoding altimeter and the standby D10 disagreed on altitude by more than the acceptable limit at lower pressure altitude and that they had to calibrate the standby instrument. I didn't question it, but now wondering if this maintenance activity is related to the 'fail to sync' issue I am now seeing.
