Ferrous metal near ADAHRS

I have read that strong magnetic sources (such as battery or servos) should not be near ADAHRS' but have not heard much about ferrics and proximity. I have an RV6 that I placed the ADAHRS' in the tail about 1.5 feet behind the pitch servo install area and noticed that the steel cable for shoulder straps runs right past the installed units - within several inches. Be concerned? Could replace these cables with stainless if needed.

Within several inches is close. But do the steel cables move? If they don't move you might be okay. If you do use stainless steel, check to make sure it is not magnetic.

The best way to test the location is to place a pocket compass in that location, and see how accurate it is.
