Trying to update my systems (D100, D120, HS34) to version 5.2 from 5. Using a netbook running XP with SP3 and the prolific USB to serial driver. This all worked fine in the past for the updates but on 5.2 when I start the support program I get the message that the device is found on com 3 but then everything is locked up, no drop down boxes work etc and it just sits there with the hourglass. CPU utlization by the program is 100%. I have tried it with everything disabled and no conflicting com ports.
Net book and XP have all patches and updates installed.
Any help appreciated

As an update I finally got the process to work and for info this is what I found. There appears to be a conflict with the prolific USB to serial drivers with the 5.2 release if there are other comm ports in use. In my case I had comm drivers installed to allow my laptop and netbook to tether to my blackberry. For some reason the Dynon support program could not find the correct port and locked up, when I uninstalled the blackberry drivers the program could locate the dynon units although it took a number of reboots to get it to work. I tried 3 different version of the prolific driver and the most stable seemed to be the one from the Dynon download site. Another issue I had was with the HS34 which failed with errors in the upload process and would not complete the upload. I have a 496 connected and it was powered off with the other DSAB devices as suggested but the upload continued to fail with retry errors and lost connections. As a last resort I disconnected the 496 and the upload completed without any problems or connection errors, I do not know if this was part of the problem with the comm ports as the HS34 was the second device I tried to update. It seems that the 496 even when off somehow interferes with the RS232 communication between the laptop and the dynons.
Hopefully this will help others.
Dave
