I've got a D10A with firmware v4.0 connected to an EDC, temperature sensor, transponder, Garmin 495 with 2.7 firmware (the latest one) and Zaon XRX. When I connect it to a PC and run 5.4 firmware updater, I get info that device is found on port 1. When I want to check firmware wersion or manage a lists, or make a firmware backup, the EFIS's screen goes yellow with some disclaimers (.. loadong, etc.) and after a few second of attemting of communications PC shows message that it can't communicate with chip #4. I used two different computers with serial ports to eliminate possible problem with a PC. I repeated this action at least 10 times, always with the same reasult.
Both before and after the EFIS worked properly.
There was no power failure during communications.
Garmin cable was disconnected from the GPS's housing.
Keep Alive is disconnected.
My wiring is custom made and connection between EFIS and GPS has about 5 inches unshielded wire approximately in the middle.
More than one year ago I've update firmware to version 4.0 and it ran correctly. Since that time Zaon's XRX and JPI's FS-450 Fuel Scan connections were added to the GPS.
Another issue is that sometimes during at least 1 hour flight D10A loses GPS signal, and sometimes it comes back for a few minutes and again dissappears after a next few ones, but sometimes it disappears and it don't comes back. Swithichg off and on again both D10A and Garmin 495 during the flight doesn't help, but when I land and stop, shutting down both all the avionics and the engine and again switching on the avionics always help (so I suppose it's not the connection problem).
Can you help me with this two issues, please?
